John Mullins, CPA

John is a CPA who has spent his career helping nonprofits strengthen their financial footing and tell their financial story with clarity. He brings hands-on experience across audits, reviews, compilations, agreed-upon procedures, and nonprofit tax filings — but clients know him best as a trusted advisor who explains complex issues in a way that actually makes sense.

John holds the AICPA’s Not-For-Profit Certificate I and II badges, the highest credentials offered by the AICPA’s NFP section. Earning these requires 60 hours of specialized training focused on performance management, risk assessment, benchmarking, and cash-flow planning — all skills that John uses every day to help organizations steward their resources and stay mission-focused.

As a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor, John is able to streamline the audit process for his clients. He can run reports, troubleshoot questions, and recommend practical ways to structure QuickBooks so leaders get financial information that truly supports decision-making.

Outside of client work, John is an active volunteer and board member within the nonprofit community. Giving back keeps him grounded in the challenges organizations face and reinforces his belief that a good auditor is also a good partner — someone who supports strong governance, transparency, and the long-term success of the mission.
